Tips on staying active as a new mom

Being a new mom is so exciting, but it can demand a lot of your time and energy. Here are some tips on staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle while taking care of a newborn.

One of the first things you can do is know what your goals are and know that you should start by taking baby steps. Usually about 6 weeks after postpartum is when you can start going on walks with your baby outside. This is a great way to start! Just start with 20 mins! It gets you out of the house and moving around with some fresh air.

If you are wanting something a little bit more challenging you can try yoga. Not only does this help you with flexibility, but also can help you relax and find your “calm in the storm.” I would reccomended just going online and finding a yoga workout for at home. There are plenty out there! Grab a matt and throw on some stretchy workout clothes.

Something that is important to also do is to try and eat as healthy as possible. Whether it’s a smoothie, salad, or meal prepping. If you don’t have enough time to work out make sure that you are at least eating healthy to balance things out.
